K-Y Duration Spray Review

K-Y Duration Male Genital Desensitizer is a delay spray that works by improving the stamina. Unlike other delay sprays, KY Duration claims to provide harder erection and increase erect penis size.

Benefitsky duration product packaging

  • Better stamina
  • Harder erection
  • Increase erect penis
  • Boost fertility levels

Ingredients

K-Y Duration’s main ingredient is lidocaine. This is a mild anesthetic commonly used to relieve pain.

However, when used for men’s delay sprays, lidocaine acts as a desensitizing agent.[1]

Very effective

 by

Wife is very happy. My only concern was I spent a lot of time adjusting my dosage. Sometimes I use 2 sprays but for longer nights, 3 sprays are ok.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, just need to be careful at first.

A little expensive but this is wife’s choice

 by

I used Stud 100 before. It is a lot cheaper but I needed to use more sprays sometimes more than 5 sprays to deal with PE.

With KY Duration, I only use one spray. No more burning sensation, no more tingling.

My wife doesn’t feel anything weird and she’s just plain happy. With Stud 100 she sometimes complains of tingling after sex. So I guess I am sticking with KY for a while.

Smells bad

 by

I’ve used other sprays but this particular brand has a noticeable smell, even I washed it off.

Promescent also has a smell but KY’s smell is stronger. I still prefer Stud 100. Doesn’t smell at all.

15 minutes is a long wait

 by

Sometimes I prefer using the Durex condoms with numbing gels inside. They let me hold long enough but since my wife doesn’t like condoms, I sometimes use this spray. But 15 minutes is too long!

It works well, just make sure it is completely dry before penetration, if not, just wash it off after about 5 minutes.

Too messy

 by

Never buying again. I kept the bottle in the drawer and it has been there, untouched for over a month.

First time I used it, the liquid went to my balls too. Not a good place to go. My girl felt numb after a while and that is very embarrassing.

Won’t recommend to anyone.

How it Works

Like other delay sprays, K-Y Duration must be applied on the penis (on the head and shaft) before sex. It must be spread on the penis skin until it dries out completely. The product is absorbed through the skin within 10 to 15 minutes.

The manufacturer recommends using up to three sprays on the first use. If your worry about transferring the product to your partner, it is recommended to wash it off with soap and water before sex.

The effects of this spray can last for at least 10 minutes.

Pros

  • Control when to orgasm.
  • Can be applied on demand, no need to apply every day.
  • Can be used as a temporary relief for premature ejaculation.
  • Portable and can be brought anywhere.
  • Is absorbed quickly.
  • Uses lidocaine which is an FDA approved desensitizing agent.[2]

Cons

  • May cause excessive numbing to most men.
  • May be transferred to the partner, thus resulting in their loss of sensation during sex.
  • More expensive than similar products.
  • Needs dosage testing in order to know the perfect dose.
  • Has a weird smell that the partner can taste when doing oral, even after washing properly.
  • Only a temporary solution to premature ejaculation and must be used on demand.

Side Effects

  • Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching
  • Severe side effects: burning and tingling sensation
  • Extreme side effect: inability to achieve an erection

Safety Precautions

  • Must not be used when your partner is pregnant.
  • Must be washed off after sex.
  • Not for people who have a history with liver or kidney problem.
  • Not for people who are allergic to lidocaine.
  • Do not inhale.
  • Avoid contact with eyes or mouth.
  • Must not use more than 20 sprays in 24 hours.

Gel Form Variation

K-Y has designed a desensitizer gel called K-Y Duration Male Genital Desensitizer Gel Pump. This variation comes in gel form which works the same way as the spray.

However, the manufacturer uses a different ingredient called benzocaine. This is a milder anesthetics used in other brands of spray. Since the gel covers a larger surface of the penis, the resulting effect should be the same as the spray.

KY Duration vs Promescent

These products both use lidocaine as the main ingredient. K-Y Duration can be too strong when compared to Promescent.

While Promescent can also be a strong product for some men, it is still able to provide pleasure while numbing the penis. However, K-Y Duration falls short of providing enjoyable sex while delaying the ejaculation. (See our full review of Promescent.)

KY Duration vs Stud 100

K-Y Duration is better when it comes to numbing the penis. Stud 100 tends to be very mild and may not work for some men.

For starters, it is recommended to start with Stud 100 as it uses a milder ingredient (benzocaine) compared to K-Y Duration. (See our full review of Stud 100.)

Other Alternative

Another delay spray that is worth checking out is VigRX Delay Spray. Like Stud 100, this brand also uses benzocaine as an active ingredient.

This is a bit expensive compared to K-Y Duration and Stud 100, but the manufacturer offers packages in order to get some discount. (See our full review of VigRX Delay Spray.)

About the Manufacturer

This product was designed by a brand named K-Y – a company based in New York that is well known for their lubricants.

Returns and Refund

The manufacturer is willing to do a refund if the items are unused and are returned to them in “sellable condition”. This means the products must be returned in their original packaging unless the items were damaged during the delivery.

Conclusion

K-Y Duration does not deliver its promise to provide a harder erection. Even with the minimum dosage, it can be very strong to some men that they are unable to get an erection.

It also has a strong smell that doesn’t come off even after washing off.

Better for the girls

 by

I use three sprays all the time. I last about 2 hours and after sex, I still feel numb for about 1 hour more. I can’t feel so much but I am still able to ejaculate when I concentrate real hard.

One or two sprays for me

 by

I used 5 sprays the first time. That was too much! I didn’t feel anything so the next time I sprayed one, but found that’s too quick.

The third time, I used 2 sprays, which is perfect for me. I can last 45 minutes with 2 sprays so that’s perfect.

Just use how much you need

 by

The instruction states you can use up to three sprays. But if you want to stay safe, one spray should be enough.

Wait for a while and if you feel it’s not enough, add one more until you are satisfied with the numbness. Make sure that you can still feel your penis.

Also, make sure that you wash it off completely before approaching your partner.

This brand has the tendency to transfer so it is important to wash off before having sex unless your partner has a yeast itch!

Tip: Just wear a super thick condom

 by

I’m never trying anything like this anymore. One spray and I stopped feeling any sensation down there.

I washed it off immediately and had to wait 2 hours before I could get my sensation back.

I lost my penis

 by

I always had a perfect erection. I just tried this out of curiosity. I was having a good day, but it was ruined by this product.

I used as directed. 3 sprays and I started feeling all numb. I can’t even get an erection. It’s like I lost my penis. My wife was so disappointed.
